EvoWars.io packs 39 unique evolutions from Caveman to Megavolution II into a top-down arena where every kill stretches your weapon and shrinks your speed.

EvoWars.io is a top-down multiplayer .io brawler built by Polish studio Night Steed S.C. (also branded as Night Steed Games), released for Android in March 2018 and now sitting at version 2.0.137. The game runs cross-platform on browser, Android, and iOS through one unified server pool, so a single account follows your progress between devices. The hook is the evolution chain: you start as a Caveman and climb 39 stages all the way up to Megavolution II by farming XP orbs and chaining kills, with every tier handing you a longer weapon and a slower body. The free download ships with five game modes covering Free For All, Teams, Duels, Monster Hunt, and Classic, plus rotating seasonal events such as Halloween Mayhem, Christmas Rumble, and the current Twin Legends event.

The 39 evolution chain from Caveman to Megavolution II

The roster runs 36 standard evolutions plus 2 secret stages and the apex Megavolution I and Megavolution II, for 39 unique forms in total. Every evolution sits in one of four rarities (Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary), and each one needs 20 Evolution Shards to upgrade its weapon. Damage scales per rarity: Common evolutions start at 1 base damage with +1 per level, Rare at 2 with +2 per level, Epic at 3 with +3 per level, and Legendary at 4 with +4 per level. The chain breaks down into four playable tiers, each with its own pacing and survivability curve.

  • Stages 1-8 (early game): Caveman, Viking, Warrior, Knight, Musketeer, Ninja, Pirate, Spartan. Caveman opens every match with a short wooden club, so the first 30 to 60 seconds is almost always orb farming on the map edges instead of duelling.
  • Stages 9-16 (mid game): Samurai, Soldier, Hooligan, Red Monster, Cyborg, Alien, Thor, Archmage. The Alien evolution’s weapon length was specifically rebalanced in update 1.7.9 because its reach was punishing low-level players too hard on first contact.
  • Stages 17-26 (late game): Demon, Archangel, Medusa, Apache, Butcher, Cyclop, Minotaur, Dark Knight, Warlord, Dragon Slayer. By the time you reach Dragon Slayer, your sword spans roughly a quarter of the screen and a single clean swing flattens most lower-tier players.
  • Stages 27-36 (end game): Executioner, Morbash, Elven Warrior, Reaper, Overmind, Hexatron, Warmaster, Hive King, Space Hunter, Annihilator. A recent patch locked the maximum character size at Annihilator (level 36), so any evolution past this point keeps the same hitbox and only swaps appearance and weapon.
  • Stages 37-38 (Megavolution tier): Megavolution I and Megavolution II. Both carry a dual-weapon advantage instead of growing larger, a deliberate balance change so the apex forms cannot dominate purely on swing reach.

A small set of secret hidden evolutions sits outside the public ladder and only unlocks when you push to extremely high evolution stages inside a single uninterrupted match.

Orb hunting, sprint costs, and the XP trade-off behind every match

The XP loop pulls from two sources. Glowing orbs scattered across the arena drop small fixed amounts per pickup, and killing higher-tier players grants a much larger lump sum since update 1.7.9 made strong-enemy kills deliver a big XP burst rather than a flat reward. When you die you lose 50% of your current XP instead of all of it, a change introduced in that same patch to reduce the punishment for risky late-game duels.

Mouse position drives movement, and the warrior swings automatically the moment an enemy enters weapon range. Sprinting, mapped to right-click on browser and Shift on keyboard, consumes a percentage of your current XP every time you trigger it. Earlier builds made sprint cost scale up at higher evolutions, but since 1.7.9 the cost is equal across every stage, which keeps end-game escapes from feeling impossible.

The core trade-off shapes every decision you make. Each new evolution stretches your weapon range so you can strike opponents from farther away, but it also drops your movement speed. A Caveman can rush across half the arena between orb clusters in a couple of seconds, while an Annihilator covers the same ground in two or three times the time. That is why veteran players treat the outer ring as the safe lane through the first eight evolutions and only push into the centre once their reach can hold faster opponents outside their swing arc. Spacebar fires emoji expressions for quick communication, and left-click executes a manual weapon attack when you want to time a swing against a dodging opponent instead of relying on the automatic strike.

Five game modes: Deathmatch, Teams, Duels, Monster Hunt, and Classic

The game ships with five distinct modes built on the same evolution system, each with its own victory rule:

  • Deathmatch (Free For All): the classic .io battle royale where every player is an enemy and your score climbs only as long as you stay alive. The outer ring of the map carries denser orb clusters for safe leveling, while the centre carries the high-tier kills and the highest risk.
  • Teams (red vs blue): two squads fight to protect their own Guardian, the team’s golem-style objective, while attacking the opposing Guardian. Killing the enemy Guardian ends the match, so high-level Megavolutions are usually pulled toward defence while smaller, faster evolutions push the lanes.
  • Duels: a 1v1 best-of-three (some seasonal variants run best-of-five) against a random opponent. Both players spawn at a random evolution level rather than starting from Caveman, so a Duel match can put you straight into a Hive King vs Reaper exchange. First to three round wins takes the match.
  • Monster Hunt: a cooperative PvE mode against waves of AI monsters, restructured in update 2.0.80 from hundreds of tiers down to 5 difficulty levels with clearer boss attack telegraphs. Enemies gain scaling damage resistance after each wave, elites past wave 5 always drop 5 shards, and the Pets event added pet companions specifically tuned for Monster Hunt survival.
  • Classic (Offline): the original 2018 single-player version against AI bots, kept in the build for players who want to test loadouts or play without an internet connection.

Seasonal modes layer on top of this list. Easter Mode, Halloween Mayhem, and Christmas Rumble each rotate in for the corresponding holiday with their own rewards, themed monsters, and visual filters.

Weapons, mounts, chests, and the Glory rank ladder from Bronze to Challenger

Progression outside a single match runs on three parallel tracks: weapon shards, mounts, and the Glory rank system. Weapons unlock through chests, of which there are six tiers in ascending order: War Chest, Iron Chest, Silver Chest, Gold Chest, Diamond Chest, and the top-tier Champion Chest. War Chest now drops 10 to 15 shards per open after the increase in update 2.0.101 (up from a flat 5), and the same patch removed the 10-shard storage cap that previously forced duplicates once you hit the limit on a specific weapon.

Mounts replace the basic walking animation with a custom ride and currently include the Whale, Dragon, Bat, and Feet, with Feet added in the Twin Legends update as a throwback to the original pre-mount running animation. Each mount carries its own visual signature on the map: a Dragon glides above the surface while a Whale plows along it. Update 2.0.88 added 5 new mounts and 2 new weapons in a single batch alongside the Double Rank XP New Year event.

The Glory rank ladder climbs through 10 tiers, starting at Bronze and progressing through Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Conqueror, Elite, Epic, Master, and ending at Challenger, the apex bracket. You earn Glory XP for kills and survival time per match, and seasonal Double Rank XP events double every rank gain across the duration. The shop offers timed free rewards on a rotating cycle, and the Premium account was renamed to VIP in a recent patch, with new IAP bundles for chest packs, pet packs, and the all-pet bundle added alongside it.

What’s new in EvoWars.io version 2.0.137

The 2.0.137 build ships the Twin Legends event as its headline content drop. The event doubles your chance at legendary items in every chest, including high-tier Diamond Chest and Champion Chest drops, and runs for the duration of the live update window. The patch adds a new megavolution to chase at the top of the evolution ladder, 6 all-new evolution weapons spread across the existing roster to grind shards for, and a new mount called Feet that pays homage to the original pre-mount running animation.

Recent patches before 2.0.137 layered up the late-game systems in noticeable ways. Update 2.0.80 reworked Monster Hunt from hundreds of tiers down to 5 difficulty levels with reworked boss attack telegraphs. The Pets event then introduced pet companions that help you survive Monster Hunt waves, with IAP pet packs and a bundle containing every pet plus a bonus. The War Chest & Fair Play update (2.0.100 / 2.0.101) raised War Chest shard rewards to 10-15 per open, removed the 10-shard storage cap on weapons, and lifted the 90% XP and Score penalty that had been applied when killing the same opponent twice within 60 seconds. Annihilator was locked in as the maximum-size evolution at level 36, Apache’s upgrade currency display bug was fixed, Duel rewards were increased, and Megavolutions kept their dual-weapon advantage but stopped scaling up in size.

EvoWars.io MOD APK features

This MOD APK targets the friction points the stock APK builds its entire progression around: the 50% XP loss on death, the sprint XP drain, the 20 Evolution Shards wall in front of every weapon upgrade, and the rewarded-ad gates on bonus drops. Players who care more about reaching Megavolution I and Megavolution II than grinding chests use this build to skip straight to the end-game arena.

God Mode (Immortality)

Damage taken from other warriors, monsters, and Guardians drops to zero, so you keep your current evolution and your full XP bar through every fight. The stock APK’s 50% XP-on-death penalty introduced in update 1.7.9 stops mattering, which lets you push into the Reaper, Overmind, and Hive King bracket without ever resetting back to Caveman. Most useful in Monster Hunt past wave 5, where elites scale up damage resistance and hit harder, and in Teams mode when you have to tank against the enemy push near your own Guardian.

One Hit Kill

Every weapon swing kills the target regardless of their evolution tier or Glory rank, ignoring the rarity-based damage scaling (Common at 1 base, Rare at 2, Epic at 3, Legendary at 4, each with per-level growth). A Caveman swing can drop a Megavolution II in a single connect instead of needing 20-plus clean hits. This is especially powerful in Duels, where both players spawn at random evolution levels and a low-tier spawn against a Hive King opponent normally guarantees a loss in the first round.

Fast Level (Quick Evolution)

XP gain per orb and per kill scales up so the climb from Caveman to Annihilator at level 36 takes a fraction of the stock pace, and Megavolution I and Megavolution II become reachable inside a single match. The stock loop usually demands chained late-game kills across multiple matches because the big XP bursts only drop when you kill strong enemies (per the 1.7.9 changelog), and a low-evolution player rarely gets the swing on those targets. The MOD removes that bottleneck and lets every match end at the top of the ladder.

All Evolutions and Weapons Unlocked

The 36 standard evolutions plus Megavolution I, Megavolution II, and the secret hidden evolutions are available from the start, along with the full weapon catalogue across all four rarity tiers. The 20 Evolution Shards required per weapon upgrade, and the War Chest, Iron Chest, Silver Chest, Gold Chest, Diamond Chest, and Champion Chest grind that gates them, becomes optional rather than mandatory. Mounts (Whale, Dragon, Bat, Feet) and the cosmetic catalogue follow the same unlock rule, so you can pick any rider and any weapon skin before queueing into a match.

No Ads

The rewarded-ad prompts that gate the stock APK’s bonus rewards in the shop and the post-match screen are stripped out. The timed free rewards now rotating in the shop grant their payouts directly, and the legendary-drop ad multiplier active during the Twin Legends event applies automatically without watching the 15 to 30 second video. Banners and pre-match ads are also removed, which cuts roughly 20 to 40 seconds of waiting per match if you queue back-to-back into Deathmatch or Monster Hunt.

Frequently asked questions

Is the EvoWars.io MOD APK safe to install on Android?

The build keeps the original Night Steed S.C. package structure and modifies client-side values like XP gain and damage scaling rather than rewriting the executable. The bigger risk is server-side detection: because EvoWars.io runs on unified servers shared between browser, Android, and iOS, anti-cheat sweeps can flag accounts using modified XP or damage values. Use a secondary account if you care about your Glory rank on the main profile.

Will I lose progress when I switch from the stock APK to the MOD?

If you keep using the same email or social login, the unified account system carries your evolution unlocks, weapon shards, and Glory rank between builds. Logging in with a new credential creates a fresh profile that runs separately from the stock account. Mounts purchased through IAP (Whale, Dragon, Bat) stay tied to the account they were bought on, not the device.

How is the MOD different from the stock EvoWars.io APK?

The stock APK plays the 39-evolution climb with full XP penalties on death, the 20-shard weapon upgrade wall, rewarded ads on bonus drops, and the Glory ladder running from Bronze to Challenger. The MOD pre-unlocks the entire evolution roster including Megavolution I and II, removes the death XP penalty via God Mode, scales damage to one-hit kill, and strips out the ad gates, while keeping all five game modes and the Twin Legends event content intact.

Is EvoWars.io free to play on Android?

Yes. The base game is a free download with optional IAPs for VIP (formerly Premium), chest bundles, mount packs, and pet packs introduced during the Pets event. The shop now offers timed free rewards on a rotating cycle. All five modes, Deathmatch, Teams, Duels, Monster Hunt, and Classic, are accessible without spending, and seasonal events like Twin Legends, Halloween Mayhem, and Christmas Rumble run free during their event windows.

Can I play EvoWars.io with friends across PC, Android, and iOS?

Yes. The New Era update introduced full cross-platform play, with browser, Android, and iOS sharing the same unified servers and the same account login. Glory rank, evolution unlocks, and shard counts sync between all three platforms. Team Mode lets you add friends to a party for red-vs-blue Guardian battles, and Duels match you against a random opponent regardless of which device they are on.
